As seen above, “sattvic” foods seem to be the most conducive to healthy eating. Physiologically, this is easily verified. However, the people consuming this type of food product will not take pleasure in eating it.
This is how the notion of eating pleasure must hold a considerable place for anyone who wishes to practice yoga and associate quality food with it. When we talk about the quality, we mean of the food itself and its underlying effects on your physical and mental health.

Tips for combining yoga and diet
Before you do your regular Yoga practice, you should start your session by waking, on an empty stomach. It will not let you feel full during your session.
After Yoga practice, you should take your breakfast consisting of healthy food. This will allow you to easily hold until lunch without cravings and without loss of energy.
Your protein intake during the day must be sufficient. Yoga doesn’t favor you to consume protein of animal origin excessively (think ethical). You should consume vegetable protein instead, which is found in cereals abundantly.
Hydrating yourself right way is very important. So, you should drink water plentifully.
Your water consumption should be important in order to hydrate yourself in the right way.
Eat mindfully. Take the time, enjoy the food (preferably seasonal). This will naturally lead you to reduce your food intake in quantities and relieve your digestive system.
Weight gain is not sought, the postures being restrictive, your weight will have to remain stable to ensure you an optimal practice of yoga.
By adopting the rawest diet possible, avoiding processed foods, favoring plant sources, and eating with full awareness, you will be on the right track to benefit from the benefits of yoga.
