Detox: A Guide To Rejuvenation!

Detox! These 5 letters flood all the women’s magazines after the holidays when we have had some nice meals in a row and have gained some more pounds or at the start of the summer when we want to show off our bodies at the beaches. Magic word but detox is just a dream. This detox guide promises better health and, above all, weight loss! But be careful not to confuse detox and slimming diets, which do not really suggest the same goals. For this very reason, we will discuss in detail what a detox is and how to purify your body effectively.

What is Detox?

Detoxification is a natural mechanism that the body performs beautifully, providing us the maintenance to be healthy. Not only the metabolism of our organism but also including everything surrounding us like our environment, food, pollution, our state of stress, oxygen produce waste, and toxins. Some of our organs are responsible for eliminating or even reducing, the harmful effects of these toxins.

Among them, we find our lungs exhaling CO2, our skin secreting acids through sweat, and our kidneys filtering the blood.  Finally, probably the most interesting for the sellers of detox programs, is our liver. This is the one where many enzymes will be synthesized and metabolize many harmful substances otherwise they would have been accumulated to our body.

Do You Need a Detox?

Detox doesn’t have to be systematic for everyone. It is true that many of us feel “full” after the holiday season. People who follow a healthy diet rich in vitamins and minerals routinely don’t need to detoxify. On the other hand, for those who regularly overindulge, who regularly consume processed foods and fewer fruits and vegetables, or who embark on a slimming diet need to detoxify properly to cleanse the body before losing weight. It is a very effective option. In any case, a healthy body will detoxify on its own.

Attention in Case of Health Problems

Overtime all detox programs have lost their meaning and usefulness. If you are sick or in poor health, you do not need detox but need treatment. However, there is truth. Being in poor health reduces the body’s natural detoxification capabilities, and some toxins can build up, especially in fats. And again, the best detox is the one you do all year! It is the food program and the lifestyle that you have chosen to adopt that will push you, day after day, to be healthier and thus naturally eliminate the waste from your body.

The Purification in Question

The process of purification is found in many religions and it is interesting to note that many of the benefits of detox programs lead to better mental and, ultimately, physical health. This is explained in particular by a decluttering of the digestive system which causes, primarily, a revival of energy. The body makes better use of its glycogen and fat stocks, and better regulates the excretion of water and the elimination of toxins. And since a detox program only lasts a few days, it will have very little risk of deficiencies.

This last argument is interesting and essential since it demonstrates that detoxification based on questionable nutritional programs can lead in the long term to deficiencies and therefore to damage, mostly affecting your purifying organs such as the liver or the kidneys, that you are trying by all means to protect!

No need to run to the latest fashionable plant promising less bloating, softer skin, and silky hair. All of these promises are false.

A Balanced Diet Remains the Best Detox

The best way to purge your body and rid it of its toxins is to adopt a healthy diet, if possible organic, and which provides all the nutrients and micronutrients essential for health, as part of a lifestyle, healthy and in an environment conducive to health. Under these conditions, and at regular intervals (especially at the change of season), a few days of detox will prove to be extremely effective. It will rejuvenate your body and soul!

We have seen above that toxins tend to accumulate in our fats. Weight loss is therefore one of the first steps to put in place to lead to a better general state of health and ultimately, a detoxified body!

Also note that the best detox is often the one that is born deep within you, like when, one morning when you get up, you don’t want breakfast but to drink lemon juice or just a glass of water. Your body is smart enough to send you messages. It is in your interest to listen to them.

Interestingly all of the tips like physical activity, quality nutritional intake, fulfilling social life, good morale, less stress, better sleep, less fat are generally good for sound health. However, let’s take a closer look at how diet, dietary supplements, and some little tips can help you feel better.
